Biography: Before taking a job at the Hollywood Reporter, Katie Kilkenny was an associate editor and writer at Pacific Standard, where she covered culture in print and online. Previously, she was a fellow at The Atlantic‘s Culture channel, where she reviewed films and wrote reported stories about the entertainment industry. Prior to that, she wrote freelance film reviews, covered scripts for a Hollywood talent agency, and helped select short films for the Telluride Film Festival. She has written for Slate, Vice, The Los Angeles Review of Books, RogerEbert.com, Indiewire, and Hyperallergic, among others, and in 2014, she was the recipient of an Ebert Fellowship from the Sundance Institute. She is an avid reader of box-office statistics and Hollywood history books; the two coolest experiences she has ever had as a film journalist has been to profile L.A. Rebellion filmmaker Charles Burnett and one of the first top female executives in Hollywood, Marcia Nasatir.
